Chipotle chilli flakes are made from dried jalapeño peppers. The peppers are dried in wood-fired smoke chambers, intensifying their fruity flavour. This process gives the chilli flakes an earthy, smoky heat.

The rich, spicy flavour of chipotle chilli can transform sauces and marinades. It’s an essential spice for slow cooked chilli con carne. We like to add a pinch to tomato soup and shakshuka. The smokiness is a great match for the sweetness of tomatoes.

You will find chipotle chilli in many Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes. It gives tacos and salsa an addictive smoky kick. Try adding a pinch to sour cream to spoon over nachos. Or, add the flakes to a dry rub for pork and beef.
