Mill & Mortar Organic Vadouvan Curry Spice Blend, 50g

Mill & Mortar organic vadouvan spice is sweet, smoky and aromatic. It’s also known as French masala. It’s milder and more complex than other curry powders.

Vadouvan spice originated in Pondicherry, India. The region was ruled by the French for 280 years. Today, the blend is used to flavour curries, soups and seafood dishes.

This spice blend starts with a base of roasted onions and garlic. Cumin, coriander and black pepper add warmth and earthiness. There’s a hint of bitterness from fenugreek and curry leaves.

Made with organic ingredients, vadouvan is aromatic and rich in umami.

Add vadouvan spice to South Indian curries and dahls. It’s great in lentil soups and creamy sauces for fish. We like to add a pinch to fritters and bhajis.
