Mill & Mortar Organic Vanilla Pods, 10g

Vanilla pods have a sweet, delicate flavour. Mill & Mortar sources their pods from organic growers in Uganda. The pods are allowed to mature fully on the vine so their flavour can develop.

Vanilla pods can be used whole or split open to remove the seeds. Use the empty pods to infuse poached fruit or sugar. Vanilla sugar is wonderful in baked goods and hot drinks.

Use the oily black seeds to flavour ice cream, panna cotta and crème brûlée. They add a sweet, floral note to cakes and cookies.

Vanilla works well in savoury recipes, too. Try adding the seeds to a buttery sauce for seared scallops.

Store in an airtight container in a dark, dry place.
